According to People, the proposal took place at Dune Beach in Southampton and was filmed for the upcoming season of The Summer Vacation. Carl convinces Lindsay that they will make a bonfire as an excuse to propose. Lindsay, who has been dating since early 2022, was given an intimate picnic when they arrived at the venue. The picnic followed a long and beautiful marriage proposal. Carl testified that he hid the ring in his beach bag and asked Lindsay to marry him, adding: “Our love story has just begun.” Lindsay replied, “A thousand times yes!” at his request.

Lindsay and Carl were among the original cast of the Bravo show when it premiered in the summer of 2017. They tried to develop their friendship into a romance during their fourth trip to the Hamptons in 2019. However, tension between the two arose when Carl admitted that he did not want to be in a relationship with actress Letnikovac. Later, when Lindsay was present, he asked the gym teacher outside.
Lindsay took to Instagram to talk about the situation, and Carl admitted that alcohol probably played some role in his choice. While promoting Season 4 of Summer House, he told Entertainment Tonight:
“Lindsay is a lovely young lady.” You drink and have fun and I’m single… They believe you should date your best friend. That usually works fine. There are many mornings I wake up with no idea what happened the night before.”
After that, the Summer House husband and wife maintained their relationship and supported each other in difficult times. Lindsay was there to comfort Carl when his brother died during the show’s fifth season. In October 2021, Carl officially announced that he had completed 10 months of sobriety. The Summer Vacation actor also said that things turned romantic between the two before the end of season 6 filming in September 2021. On the other hand, Carl said that he was scared at first because Lindsay was his best friend and noted:
“Just had more of a feeling.” We spend a lot of time together. I can’t tell you how many of our friends have said to us, ‘Oh, you know…’ Like, you keep thinking about me and Lindsay. And I rushed out of it for some reason. I was so scared because dating your best friend was scary.”
Since then, they’ve been hanging out together, traveling, spending time with family, and attending award ceremonies and red carpets together. The couple revealed to US Weekly in May 2022 that they were preparing to move in together.
Carl claims that they are “extremely serious, in love and very happy” and that they are moving to a “completely new place”. The 37-year-old explained:
“We’re really excited to start our new chapter together.” Living together is a big step, but we’ve been doing it for over a year, simply switching places with each other.”
Other members of Letnikovac were also present to mark the event. Kyle Cooke, Danielle Olivera, Paige DeSorbo, Mya Allen and Andrea Denver are among them. Carl proposed with a “shiny, square-cut 3.5-carat square cushioned Nicole Rose ring with two crescent-shaped diamonds on the side,” according to People.
