News Stevie Nicks

The legendary soft rock group lost a key member of the creative team responsible for some of their biggest successes following the death of Christine McVie in late November 2022.

They have lost a close friend along with someone who has been an important part of Fleetwood Mac for more than 50 years. Some of the band’s most popular songs, including “Little Lies,” “Songbird,” “You Make Loving Fun,” and “Say That You Love Me,” were written and performed by Christine.

After her death, several tributes from the music community followed, with Sheryl Crow, Bryan Adams, The Beach Boys and many others citing her influence on them. Her legacy as a musician is now on display.

Even though it’s only been a few months, her loved ones, including longtime bandmate and best friend Stevie Nicks, are still accepting her death.

Stevie honored Christine at a recent concert in California with a beautiful performance of “Landslide,” and was moved to tears at the memory, sobbing.

Stevie sang one of her favorite songs with Christine at the start of her ‘Two Icons, One Night’ standout concert tour at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

This is Stevie’s first public appearance since Christine’s death, and it’s an appropriate way to pay tribute to her late companion. She ended the night with the immortal ballad Landslide.

Nicks began to cry as her great performance ended, with a series of photos of her friends showing on the screen behind her.

The lights dim and then come back on when the song ends. Stevie bowed over the microphone stand before turning towards the audience and letting the tears flow.

Not much to say, she said after thanking the audience at the start of the tour. I’m just trying to deal with it by acting like it’s still here. Stevie also included a cover of “Free Fallin'” and their duet, “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around,” earlier in her performance as a tribute to her friend Tom Petty.

Christine’s “best friend” was remembered through a heartfelt handwritten message Stevie posted on Twitter shortly after her first death, which read, “See you in the afterlife, my love.”

Immediately upon learning of McVie’s passing, her Fleetwood Mac members immediately offered their condolences.
