Spider-Man’s Strongest Suit Is Too Powerful To Ever Be In The MCU

Spider-Man has worn a number of powerful suits since he first debuted in the pages of Marvel Comics, but none of them were as powerful or could match the might of his cosmic suit. When Spider-Man was given the Enigma Force, an incredible source of energy that bonds with its host giving them a near limitless amount of power, it would lead him to sport the most absurdly powerful costume he’s ever worn.

The Enigma Force (also known as the God of Light) was created billions of years ago in the Marvel Universe. After originally being an opponent against the King in Black, it eventually transformed all of its energy into a single host, creating Captain Universe. By giving the Uni-Power to a host, it grants them cosmic abilities ranging from Uni-Vision and the ability to manipulate energy and matter on a cosmic scale. Venom recently wielded the Enigma Force to become the new God of Light and stop the God of Symbiotes from enveloping the universe in darkness. However, before he was imbued with the powers, Spider-Man hosted it first.

In The Spectacular Spider-Man #158 by Gerry Conway, Sal Buscema, and Mike Esposito, Peter Parker was accidentally given some of the Uni-Power while conducting an unsafe experiment with his professor who didn’t follow proper protocols while tracking an unknown energy source. As an energy field nearly hit his professor, Peter pushed him out of the way and got zapped by the ensuing blast. He later discovers as Spider-Man he was nearly indestructible, can fly, manipulate energy fields, and shoot lasers out of his hands. He used his new powers against villains until he was struck by the same energy again, which transformed him into a Captain Universe-like hero.

He would use the Captain Universe powers to fight Sebastian Shaw and the Tri-Sentinel, a three-headed and six-armed Sentinel. In the battle, he used cosmic projections as offensive and defensive attacks. He would survive explosive attacks by the Tri-Sentinel and break free of its hold as his spider-strength would become stronger than ever before. Spider-Man would reach into the Engima Force to let out an energy blast so strong it turns the massive Tri-Sentinel to dust.

While Spider-Man would lose the power after the fight, a later What If…? story explored what would happen if he kept Captain Universe’s powers. In that tale, Peter punches Thor so hard he gets launched into space. He wouldn’t be the last Spider-Man to wield the Enigma Force, as Miles Morales gained its powers in the Spider-Geddon storyline.

Among the suits Peter has worn, his cosmic suit ranks atop in pure power. That might make it seem like it would be fun to adapt to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but given its immense power, making Spider-Man a near-unbeatable force would be a bit much. Peter Parker’s Iron Spider suit already makes him seem like he has too many upgrades from his original powers – adding something as insane as the Enigma Force would be overkill. Still, it’s without question his most powerful Spider-Man suit ever.
