- His film ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!’ (1994), came at a time when video piracy was at its peak and theaters were losing audiences due to their poor atmosphere. To remedy this, the film was released only in select theaters and prints were given to theaters that were willing to upgrade themselves. Since the film was released to a positive response from the audience, theaters immediately upgraded themselves. This increased ticket revenues, brought audiences back to theaters and made history by making the film one of the highest-grossing films of all time.
- ‘Who am I to you..!’ Brought the culture of ‘big weddings’ in cinema and real life. Weddings often feature songs and games inspired by the film. It also inspired many directors like Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra.

And then you lose a mother and you make ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’, when you realize the value of marriage you make ‘Vivah’ and then with ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ you realize That there are problems in every family, you cannot deny (it).”

When I made Maine Pyaar Kiya, video-piracy was at its peak. The idea in my mind was that the film should be presented with such grandeur that the audience would be compelled to watch it in theatres. It was a make or break film for Rajshri; But I believed that my hard work would bear fruit. The success of Maine Pyar Kiya did wonders for our sinking business.
