Heidi Ueberroth’s career
She is the daughter of American business billionaire Peter Ueberroth (former MLB commissioner) and was born in the country. She joined the family business almost immediately after graduating from Vanderbilt University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree after years of hard work in the classroom.
She is able to manage and fulfill her duties well as her family has been heavily involved in sports management and other industries since she was a child.
Peter Ueberroth, her father, served as a commissioner of the Major League Baseball for five years starting in 1984 before resigning. He then served as president of the United States Olympic Committee for four years from 2004 to 2008. He paid $820 million for the Pebble Beach golf course in 1999 with a group of investors including Clint Eastwood and Arnold Palmer.
Heidi oversees the Ueberroth Family Charitable Foundation, which belongs to her family and was founded in the early 1990s. She later became the director of sales and marketing for ESPN/Capital Cities and Ohlmeyer Communications Sports & Entertainment Properties. . She then pursued more opportunities and in 2004 joined the National Basketball Association as the Director of International Media Programs.
She was appointed senior vice president of international television and business development in 1999, three years after being appointed vice president of international television. In 2000, Heidi was promoted to Executive Vice President of Global Media Properties & Marketing Partnerships after demonstrating the right reputation and leadership qualities. Six years later, the National Basketball Association appointed her to the role of President of Global Marketing Partnerships and International Business Operations.
However, she left her position and joined Santander Consumer USA Holdings Inc. as an independent director in 2013. Heidi Ueberroth is currently the president of Globicon, a private equity firm. She is the director of the Institute for Cancer Research and a graduate of Vanderbilt University. She is a board member of Electronic Arts (EA), Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and the Monterey Peninsula Foundation.
