Sonal Chauhan is an Indian software developer, best known as the girlfriend of 2018 UPSC exam topper Kanishk Kataria.

Sonal was born in a middle-class family in Sirohi district of Rajasthan. After his schooling, he appeared for the IIT JEE examination and enrolled in the B.Tech Computer Science course at IIT Bombay.

While pursuing B.Tech., Sonal did summer internships at Housing.com (from May 2012 to June 2012) and BMC Software (from May 2013 to June 2013). After B.Tech, Sonal moved to Tokyo, Japan where she started working as a software developer with Rakuten Inc., a Japanese electronic commerce and internet company. In February 2017, he was promoted to the position of product manager at Rakuten.
