Sminty Drop Explains Her Iconic RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Exit

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 4 is off to the races as audiences saw Sminty Drop eliminated in the fourth episode. While Sminty was able to deliver incredible looks on the runway, it was an improv challenge that caused her demise. Drag Race UK’s Season 4 contestants have been firing on all cylinders since the season premiered, but many fans found the elimination of Sminty Drop to be the hardest elimination thus far.

Sminty Drop’s exit is what really got fans talking, as she walked to the back of the stage crying and twerking, all the while dressed as a glamorous moth. In an interview with Gay Times, Sminty Drop was asked about her exit and said, “I literally turned around, saw Ru and my knees started bending and my bum just started relatively moving.” Most queens on Drag Race, walk to the back of the stage with a prepared exit line, but Sminty explained, “I wasn’t expecting to go this early, so I hadn’t thought of anything!” If the sad twerking wasn’t good enough, Sminty’s incredible runway look sealed the deal.

Sminty Drop Is Happy With Her Run On RuPaul’s Drag Race UK

Although her time on the show was not as long as she (or the fans) anticipated, Sminty says, “I’ve shown my personality and some sickening looks. That’s all I can take away from it.” Sminty’s journey was certainly filled with highs and lows. From the first episode it was clear she would be one to watch, as she placed in the top in the first runway challenge. The second episode wasn’t as forgiving, as she ended up in the bottom three for her performance in the girl group challenge. If Sminty were to change anything about her experience she says, “I think I needed to stop focusing on trying to be so perfect at everything.

Sminty left the competition to the sound of her fellow cast mates, RuPaul, and the judge’s panel cackling. The last time Drag Race viewers had such an iconic exit, it was from Vanessa Vanjie Mateo, who was immediately asked back for the next season. This seems like a good omen for Sminty Drop, who urges fans to check out her instagram to see all the incredible looks she wasn’t able to show on the main stage.

RuPaul’s Drag Race is always unpredictable. Sometimes the front-runner of a season can go out in episode 2, while a perceived “weaker” queen can make it all the way to the end. The influx of new Drag Race content might be a saving grace for Sminty Drop, as she seems to be a shoo-in for a future Drag Race All Stars season. In the meantime, there are so many opportunities for queens on RuPaul’s Drag Race, so fans shouldn’t have to wait long before they see Sminty Drop again.
