Maureen Ryan’s new book, “Burn It Down,” not only sheds light on the toxic environment of the past Lostbut also bringing up an alleged dispute between Sleepy Hollow stars Nicole Beharie and Tom Mison.
In the explosive new book, it’s reported that Tom even came up with an iconic moment from the show so he and Nicole wouldn’t have to touch each other during filming.

In the excerpt, which was shared on The Hollywood ReporterIt is revealed that while Nicole and Tom, who played Detective Abbie Mills and Ichabod Crane, had good on-screen chemistry, it was definitely lacking off-screen.
A source close to the show said that Tom and Nicole “didn’t want to have much to do with each other” and the tension was so high between them that the bow Tom makes as Ichabod to exit a scene was created so that Ni We didn’t even have to touch or hug each other.
Showrunner Clifton Campbell later told Maureen that both stars “believed the relationship between the characters should not evolve into a romantic relationship,” even if fans supported one.
Another report about the show says that there was tension between Nicole and co-creator and director Len Wiseman to the point that Lyndie Greenwood was brought in as a possible replacement for her.
Lyndie went on to play her sister, Jenny, on the show.
More sources on the show also talked about how people in power didn’t have “good” experiences with Nicole in particular, and that statement was then extended to other people who didn’t work with her at all.
Orlando Jones says it was a “double standard” situation.
“Especially if that person is a woman and a woman of color — those are two groups that already have challenges to begin with,” the source added. “From her first day, a very us-against-her environment was created.”
Another source also claimed that Tom was referred to as “a handful”: “He had his own problems. “I’ve always said that on any other show, he would have been the biggest problem.”
In a previous interview, Nicole talked about her time in Sleepy Hollow and revealed that she felt blacklisted after her exit.
