“He’s a good drummer,” Simon shared with People on Tuesday (September 12). “He really is. Thank God it wasn’t violin, it was drums. And he’s really good.”
“I mean, it was on time. “He’s in rhythm,” Simon added. “I keep telling him, ‘If you’re good, never come on the show.’”
When asked what kind of act he and Eric would perform if they ever went on stage together, Simon joked that he would let Eric go on stage without him.
“Oh God. I’m afraid to think… it would be, I don’t really have any talent for acting, so it would have to be him,” Simon said. “I would stay backstage.”
Simon also said that Eric and his friends get “excited” while sitting in the AGT audience, adding that Eric has been coming to see performances since he was “very young.”
“It’s a great barometer,” Simon shared. “I look up at him, ‘Are you having fun?’ And he was having a great time when he was in his seat, excited. [It] It is the best, because with children everything is without a filter.”
