Wiki/Biography
He was born in 1977 in Hyogo Prefecture. Sugaya became fascinated with computers and programming at an early age. During his school days, he used to create gaming programs and sell them to his peers. To give wings to his dreams, he graduated from Saga University in Japan in 2000, where he learned more about computer programming.
At the age of 23, he received an offer to sell his business idea to SoftBank for $2.8 million, which he rejected. Instead, he focused on his idea and started a software company, Optimum, in 2000. At the age of 43, his resolve came to fruition. Amazingly, Optim shares have gained 79 per cent in 2020 after rising 7.9 per cent on June 10, 2020. After this, Sugaya’s net worth increased as he holds 64% stake in Optimum. Nearly two decades ago, SoftBank Corp. founder Masayoshi Son approached Sugaya to buy his idea after Sugaya won a prize in a business competition he was judging.
