The series uses horror and gore to expose the rottenness of society and the crippling class gap that sees a small demographic become super-rich while the majority of humanity wallows in poverty.
Four hundred and fifty-six financially challenged entrants are playing for the chance to win close to $40 million. They believe that they will participate in a series of children’s games, which is partly true. What they don’t know is that failure results in deletion by execution.

The Japanese series stars two strangers trapped in an abandoned Tokyo. The player’s existence in Tokyo ends with death when their ‘visas’ expire. A participant can extend his visa by winning certain games by playing cards.
The high-risk nature of I live on the border matches the squid game. No matter how much you oppose the game, you have to play or risk death from a laser beam hidden outside the playing field.
Another similarity the show shares with squid game is that the origin of the game is a mystery. The tension and excitement you will experience as the series unfolds is unmatched.
Extracurricular (2020)
Extracurricular it doesn’t have the gore and death that is prevalent in Squid Game, and it brings out the class divide in society in a more intimate way. Ji-Soo is one of the best students in his high school class, but he doesn’t have the funds to pay for college.
To raise funds, he starts an illegal business, which Gyu-ri discovers. Gyu-ri comes from a wealthy background and faces pressure from her parents to take over the family business. However, she accepts Ji-soo’s offer to join the business.

Seven years after the world was covered in ice, the remaining humans survive on a gigantic train that circles the globe about three times a year. The movement propels the train of cars 1001 and prevents its passengers from freezing.
One would think that an apocalyptic event would eliminate the dominant class system in today’s society. However, inequality prevails on the train and those higher up in the social hierarchy enjoy a better life.
It is not long before a revolution gains strength among the lower classes. The revolution has little to do with dialogue and everything to do with violence.
black mirror (2011-2019)
black mirror it takes all the fears we have about technology and makes them a reality. The brilliant mind of Charlie Brooker brings us episodes set in a kind of dystopian future experiencing the catastrophic effects of sci-fi technology.
The series absolutely messes with your mind and fills you with a unique dread that you don’t get from typical thrillers. The icing on the cake is that Black Mirror tackles contemporary issues like the effects of social media on morality.
Sweet Home (2020- )
This Korean series rightfully drew over 2 billion views. The series begins slowly when an unexpected family tragedy forces Cha Hyun-soo to move into an apartment. Cha is suicidal, but has little time to reflect on her grief as humanity grapples with monster extinction.
The apocalyptic event turns humans into monsters that reflect their worst traits. The people within Cha’s apartment must work together to keep the monsters at bay as soon as possible.
Sweet Home imitates squid game in which strangers must unite to defeat what seems like an unstoppable force. The series also addresses social issues, as the monsters symbolize the worst traits of humanity.
the society (2019)
A diverse group of children on a school trip are forced to return home due to bad weather. They return home to find all the adult members gone without a trace. Also, a dense forest appears out of nowhere, trapping the children inside the village and blocking all communication with the outside world.
The children are faced with two choices: work together to use available resources wisely, or die. It seems like an easy choice, but for children who rarely agree, it’s hard to trust each other.
like in squid game, the topic of the class emerges as the unique situation in West Ham, Connecticut, equalizes all students regardless of their previous social status. Teamwork is also a frequent theme, as the children must come together to overcome an obstacle that none of them understand.
