Shobha became the first Assistant Superintendent of Police of Patna Cadet in 1992. In the year 2000 he was transferred to Pune where he worked as Additional Commissioner of Police. While working in Maharashtra, she also served as the Executive Director of Security at Air India. She has worked as SP in 6 districts of Bihar including Darbhanga, Hazaribagh, Chhapra, Vaishali and Deoghar. In December 2020, she returned to Bihar Cadet and became the first woman Director General of Bihar. As of 2022, she is the IG of Home Guards and Fire Services.

Air India gave clean chit to Shobha

In 2016, Air India submitted a report to the Civil Aviation Ministry (CAM) and alleged that when Shobha was serving as Chief Vigilance Officer (Deputy CVO), she was traveling to various places at the airline’s expense and Was staying in hotels. The ministry sought clarification from Air India. A senior official of the Civil Aviation Ministry (CAM) spoke about the report submitted by Air India and said,

The report said that HRA was inadvertently paid to the CVO by the Finance Department, however, when he informed about it, it was immediately recovered from his salary. The report clarified that Ohtkar’s stay in a Mumbai hotel was approved by the then CMD until he was allotted suitable residential accommodation in the city. Tickets were taken for a total of 31 journeys over a period of one year, of which only 21 were used for duty travel. Those were trivial complaints. How can a person travel 31 times in a month, as was alleged. The allegations of corruption are not only baseless and false, but also appear to have been made with deliberate malicious intent to undermine the honesty and integrity of a senior officer.
