On a May morning in 1990, a clown knocked on Marlene Warren’s door, gave her flowers and balloons, and then shot her dead in front of her son. According to a statement from Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg, Marlene Warren, and her son “obtained a measure of justice” through the plea agreement. The West Palm Beach plea hearing on Tuesday did not get any public notice, which would have ordinarily attracted a large number of media representatives and witnesses. Instead, it was quietly handled while Circuit Judge Scott Suskauer was taking a lunch break from presiding over another homicide case.
