Shehbaz Sharif is a Pakistani politician who became the 23rd Prime Minister of Pakistan on 11 April 2022. He is also the president of Pakistan Muslim League (N) party.

Shahbaz started his political career in 1988 when he was elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in the 1988 Pakistan general election. In 1990, he was elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab and National Assembly of Pakistan for the second time in the Pakistani general election. However, his tenure ended in 1990. Shahbaz acquitted in Sabzazar encounter case
In 1999, Shahbaz came into controversy when an FIR was filed against him in a fake encounter case. Complainant Saeeduddin said that Shahbaz had ordered the police to kill his son and others. In 2003, Shahbaz was unable to appear in an anti-terrorism court because he was in exile. In 2004, he was not allowed to enter Pakistan and was asked to return to Saudi Arabia. In 2007, when Shahbaz and his brother returned to Pakistan, they were arrested in the 2003 encounter case.
