‘Shark Tank’ star judge leaves show

This entrepreneur will leave after season 16.

Billionaire businessman Mark Cuban, 65, has announced that he will be leaving the hit ABC series, shark tankafter the completion of its sixteenth season.

On a recent episode of Showtime’s “All the Smoke” podcast, Cuban shared that he plans to say goodbye to the show’s other “sharks”: Barbara Corcoran, Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John and Kevin O’Leary. The show is currently in its fifteenth season.

“Next year, our 16th year, will be my last year, so I have one more year left,” Cuban explained to hosts Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson.

The chain has not yet commented on the matter.

Following the announcement, Cuban remained tight-lipped when asked to provide additional details about his decision to leave Shark Tank.

Cuban joined the show in its third season after appearing as a guest as an investor in the second season.

“We have trained multiple generations of entrepreneurs so that if someone can come from Iowa or Sacramento or anywhere else and show up on the carpet of shark tank and showing your business and getting a deal will inspire generations of kids,” said the founder of Cost Plus Drugs.

Cuban also shared how he pays close attention to body language and looks for ideas he wishes he had thought of when deciding what to invest in on the show.

“When someone comes in shark tank, you can tell if they are trying too hard,” he said. “I have this rule: the longer the backstory, the worse the deal.”
