Florence Pugh has something to say about all the backlash over her red carpet fashion choices lately.
The 27-year-old actress spoke with she in her most recent style edit, talking about her very viral moment when her nipples were revealed under a sheer hot pink. Valentino dressing in Rome, which, according to her, “nerves” people.
“I talk like I do about my body because I’m not trying to hide the cellulite on my thigh or the squid between my arm and my chest: I’d rather expose it all,” Florence shared in the issue.

She continued, promoting body positivity while calling out those who were offended that she dared to show her nipples in the dress.
“I think what scares me the most are the cases where people get upset because I’ve shown ‘too much’ of myself,” Florence says. “When everything went down with the pink Valentino dress a year ago, my nipples were visible through a piece of fabric, and that bothered people.”
He went on to say that people are more afraid of “freedom” than anything else.
“The fact that I am comfortable and happy. Keeping women down by making comments about their bodies has worked for a long time. I think we’re in this moment now where a lot of people are saying, ‘I don’t give a shit.’ Unfortunately, we are so terrified of the human body that we can’t even look at my two cute little nipples behind the fabric in a non-sexual way. We need to keep reminding everyone that there is more than one reason why women’s bodies [to exist].”
This is not the first time that Florence has spoken about the transparent dress, and that did not stop her from continuing to wear it either.
