Despite his current battle with stage four cancer, Beverly Hills, 90210 Student Shannen Doherty declares how grateful she is to still be alive and breathing.
During her last episode Let’s be clear Podcast, Doherty couldn’t help but be grateful for where she is. “This year is about being incredibly grateful to be here and being able to spend time with the people who are there for us through thick and thin,” she explained. “That they don’t walk away, that they love us unconditionally and that they have the same beliefs, morals and standards, and people who have character. “I’m really very grateful to be here for it.”
Shannen Doherty’s mother, Rosa, was the guest on the latest episode of the podcast. Shannen told him, “I was even able to schedule my cancer infusions that I would fully recover from before Christmas.”
According us weekly, Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. After undergoing two years of chemotherapy, the actress declared she was in remission. However, her cancer returned in 2020 and then metastasized to her brain. She recently revealed that the cancer has spread to her bones.
Along with her battle with cancer, Shannen Doherty and her husband, Kurt Iswarienko, called it quits earlier this year after 11 years of marriage.
Doherty said she found out her husband cheated on her just before brain surgery in January 2023. “I went to that surgery early in the morning and walked in after finding out my marriage was essentially over,” she explained. “That my husband had been having an affair for two years.”

After Shannen Doherty revealed details about her ex’s infidelity, sources close to Kurt Iswarienko made some claims. One was that he and Doherty had lived apart for two years before her brain surgery.
While speaking to TMZ, the source stated that Iswarienko had told Doherty about their new relationship after New Year’s Day. It was revealed that Doherty fell a few days after Iswarienko told him of the situation. This led to her being sent for an MRI. Then doctors discovered her brain tumor and operated on her.
Shannen Doherty called TMZ about the source. “I will address marriage and the affair later. Doherty took another swipe at the media outlet. “I realize you are afraid of the truth,” he continued. “But trying to get around it with lies will get you nowhere.”
Although she is fighting a fight for both her health and her relationships, Shannen Doherty remains optimistic. “For me, it’s been a turbulent year, with some huge health problems, some huge personal problems, a lot of anguish and fear,” she said Monday. “But through all that, I discovered… In fact, the other night I was saying this to myself: ‘God, I think I’m starting to live the happiest version of myself.'”
