Shania Twain fans are shocked by the singer’s new look. The classic brunette has turned golden blonde with a new image. Twain showed off her new look after appearing as a mentor on American Idol.
She captioned the post showing off her blonde locks: “Go idols!! I am a guest mentor to some fantastic singers, songwriters and musicians on tonight’s @americanidol.”
But fans were more obsessed with her looks.
“Unrecognizable!!” exclaimed one Instagram user. Another wrote: “I didn’t recognize you with blonde hair.”
Another person asked Twain to return to his original hairstyle. They wrote: “Please bring back the brunette style! “That kind of fake blonde is not natural for the most beautiful singer in the world.”
Another agreed, writing: “I don’t like the blonde look; It doesn’t fit you and you’re too thin.”
It seems like a lot of people missed her brown hair. One person wrote: “I miss your brown hair; I always loved it! Natural beauty wins! Another commented: “My wonderful idol, but I agree with some comments. You should go back to your roots, be more yourself just singing and being happy without mentors, etc.”
Why Shania Twain changed her hair
Of course, it wasn’t all just negativity. Several fans also called the new hairstyle beautiful and gorgeous. This is not the first time Twain has gone blonde. She previously showed off blonde hair for Haunting Live.
Twain admitted that he is changing his hair to see what works. The singer discovered gray hair, which caused the change.
She said: “It’s funny; the reason I even experimented with pink was because I’m turning grey. And now I’m thinking that when I’m completely gray, maybe I should just dye my hair then and rock the pink.”
Twain has come a long way since that 8-year-old girl who performed in bars to support her brothers. “I thought, ‘This is all I know how to do.’ I have to support the children.’ That gave me motivation and a brave state of mind, because when you have no other choice, you have to keep going, and that’s what I did,” she told People. The singer has arguably achieved icon status.
Twain shows no signs of slowing down.
“It’s like a period of rebirth for me. Continuing to experience it as a relevant artist is gratifying,” Twain said a few years ago. “I feel renewed confidence. I no longer have anything to prove and I feel freedom in that.”
She plans to perform as long as she can. “She Maybe she can’t [sing] “Forever,” he said, “but right now I’m enjoying where I am.”
