When it comes to the Gallagher family Shameless, it’s clear that Debbie is sometimes the least popular of the bunch. It’s actually pretty funny because at the beginning of the series she’s pretty sweet. However, her personality changed dramatically as the show went on, which caused many viewers to dislike her. However, one should blame this on her having a turbulent childhood as her parents were not involved in her upbringing.
Debbie’s story is thus fraught with hardship. Even as many aspects of her personality get worse as the series progresses, it’s impossible to ignore the struggles she goes through to make her who she is. However, Debbie’s quick thinking got them out of trouble when she lied to him that Patrick had touched her. While the measures she took were certainly profound, they were absolutely necessary because the Gallagher siblings would become homeless.

The moment Debbie was brutally bullied by her classmates in the swimming pool was a sad one. It even made her anxious to go there again.
However, she eventually stood up to them and defeated them greatly. It was a great moment for Debbie as it showed how she can handle herself. This definitely gives her new confidence.

Having children and needing a steady income, Debbie struggled to find a career path. This is mainly because she is still very young and currently has to support her and Franny.
Thankfully, she found something she loves in the process, as she’s pretty good at soldering. It might not be the best job in terms of benefits, but she clearly loves it so that’s a real plus for her.

She helps Fiona get revenge on Ford
After learning that Ford was unfaithful to Fiona, Debbie sets out to avenge her. Thankfully, her efforts were successful, as she managed to trap Ford.
From there, she quickly accompanied Fiona down the street where Ford was, which certainly made her feel better. Also, this led to Fiona being famous for shooting paintballs at Ford in his lower area. It must have an old one Shameless Feel it, it’s also a nice bonus.

With Fiona gone, the family definitely needs a new leader. Fiona is the centerpiece of the Gallaghers because she’s their caretaker on the show. Debbie was considered the most responsible and subsequently took on the role.
