- During his early days in the industry, Shaan was known as ‘Raja’, which was also his nickname. Talking about changing his pseudonym from ‘Raja’ to ‘Shaan’ he says-
Raja was not only my surname but also the contracted one. When I was working with Raju [Singh, composer] on a zee [Music] During the project in 1993, he asked me to sign the contract with the name Raja. biddu [composer-producer] Changed it from king to glory. He said Shantanu [his original name] The name was too long. It was okay for me to shorten it to Shan because I liked the name and I found Shantanu a bit cool.
