Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy say they never intended to adopt Michael Oher after lawsuit

Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy are speaking more about the lawsuit Michael Oher filed against them.

Last month, the former NFL star accused the Tuohy family of lying about their intentions to adopt him and instead entered a conservatorship.

Michael also claimed that they had become millionaires after the conservatorship and that led to them having the authority to do business.

Now, however, Sean and Leigh Anne have stated that adopting Michael was never in their plans.

In new court documents, via E!, Sean and Leigh Anne went on record saying they never intended to adopt him.

“They vehemently deny having seen [Michael] as a gullible young man whose athletic talents could be exploited for his own benefit,” the documents read. “He [Tuohys] “They admit that they never intended to take, and in fact never took, any steps to assume legal custody through the Juvenile Court of Shelby County, Tennessee.”

The family later added that conservatorship was explored so Michael could play college football.

“When it became clear that [Michael] I couldn’t consider going to the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) as a result of living with [Tuohys], the NCAA made it clear that the only way he could attend Ole Miss was if he were part of the Tuohy family in some way,” the documents continued. “Guardianship was the tool chosen to achieve this goal.”

As part of the lawsuit, Michael also raised questions about how much the Tuohy family made from profits from The blind side.
