- Apart from acting, Saurav is also very interested in poetry. In fifth grade he wrote his first book ‘One Drop of Happiness’. Two years later, i.e. in seventh grade, he released his second book ‘Achena Alo Rekha’. In 2002, his third book ‘Ekante Abhimanyu’ was released at a book fair. In January 2023, the book ‘Khobor Achhe’ was released in Oxford Bookstore; Saurav has dedicated this book to his father.

- In 2020, Sourav Chakraborty co-founded an entertainment website company called ‘Uribaba’, which is considered to be the first Bengali independent free entertainment station with a refreshing dose of videos in the form of web series, short films and sketches.
- In 2023, Saurav Chakraborty took to Instagram to share a childhood memory. He shared that when he was a child, he and his sister Sunanda Chakraborty would avidly watch the movie “King Kong vs. Godzilla” and try to imitate the epic fight; However, their innocent games often turned into hair-pulling fights. - In an interview, Sourav shared his insights about the making of the web series ‘Raajneeti’ (2023) and its philosophy. He said that although he does not support any political party, he still has his own political viewpoint as politics essentially affects our daily lives. He expressed a keen interest in narratives that explore the limits and implications of political ideas and ideologies. Saurav Chakraborty said in the interview,
I am not a supporter of any particular political party, but yes, I have my own political ideology because one cannot escape the implications of politics in real life. Politics is made of these ideas, these ideological differences. But this does not cause any harm to any individual political party. You will find politics everywhere – be it our daily life, office or even inside the family. The story is more about ordinary citizens’ concerns, such as sex, family and money, than political intrigue. Frankly, I’m more interested in stories that expose the limits of political ideas and ideologies.
