Sarah Michelle Gellar reveals if she is involved in the latest adaptation of the television series ‘Cruel Intentions’

Sarah Michelle Gellar took over the International Festival of Canneseries 2023 this week in Cannes, France.

The 46-year-old actress promoted her new Paramount+ series, pack of wolvesand also came out in support of the newest series on the streaming platform, Fatal Attraction.

Sarah was also seen at a handprint ceremony on Wednesday afternoon, ahead of the closing ceremony, where she received the Icon award.

During the festival, Sarah also spoke about her possible participation in the latest cruel intentions television adaptation.

Prime Video commissioned the adaptation this time for an eight-episode series, which will begin production in June in Toronto. The first time, it came from NBC during the 2016 season.

While chatting with Variety, Sarah explained why she won’t be participating this time.

“I learned a lesson with that, that it is a very difficult process. And eventually, or inevitably, they will let you down,” she shared. “Because some people want a new [version], some people want this, and my place in something like that just makes you compare it to the original. And if there’s a new take and something new, then they have a chance to stand on their own.”

Sarah had starred in the 2016 version, reprising her role as Kathryn. She previously talked about why she was glad it didn’t work.
