According to the music band, the song ‘Varaha Roopam’ from the film Kantara is a copy of the Kannada music album ‘Navarasam’. Music band Thaikkudam Bridge also appealed to their listeners to spread the word about copyright infringement. Thaikkudam Bridge shared a post about the plagiarism issue on Instagram with the caption,
We would like our listeners to know that Thaikkoodam Bridge is not associated with “Kantara” in any way. The unavoidable similarities between our IP “Navarasam” and “Varaha Roopam” in terms of audio is a clear violation of copyright laws. From our point of view the line between “inspired” and “plagiarism” is clear and undeniable and hence, we will seek legal action against the creative team responsible for this. No acknowledgment of our rights on the content has been given and the song has been promoted as an original work by the creative team of the film.
