The treatment had some long-term adverse effects: He was about a foot shorter than his peers before experiencing a growth spurt in his mid-teens. “He was very young until he was 14 or 15 years old,” Peniston said. “When I started to grow up a bit, he made me appreciate him, since he was very small when he was younger. However, the most important aspect in the long run has been my way of thinking.”
Mindful of the struggles of Peniston’s early life, Penny was overjoyed when Peniston won his first game at Wimbledon in 2022. “He’s such a determined fighter,” Penny said. Mirror. “It was a terrible moment. We’re just proud of him.”
