Bringing his big box office problem to the stage, oppenheimer star Emily Blunt and Barbie Actor Ryan Gosling criticizes Barbenheimer at the 2024 Oscars.
As the duo took the stage, Blunt quickly noticed the “tension” on stage. “A slightly frosty greeting?” she asked Gosling after he boldly greeted her.
“Not at all,” Ryan Gosling responded to Emily Blunt’s greeting. “No, I’m just happy that we can finally put this rivalry with Barbenheimer behind us.”
Blunt then said: “That’s right. Here are Ken and Kitty. [Oppenheimer] just leaving all that fodder in the dust.”
However, shortly after that response, Emily Blunt decided to take another swipe at Ryan Gosling by referencing Barbie lack of awards. “And the way this awards season turned out, it wasn’t much of a rivalry. Just let it go.”
Gosling later stated, “You know, I think I somehow figured out why they called him Barbenheimer and didn’t call him “Oppenbarbie”… Well, I think you guys are on the end of that because you were riding Barbie‘s skirts all summer long.”
Margot Robbie was then seen laughing in the audience as the crowd said: “Ohhhh.”
Refusing to let Ryan Gosling have the last word, Emily Blunt said: “Thanks for ‘Kensplaining that to me.’ Alright sir, I need to paint my abs to be nominated. You don’t see Robert Downey [Jr.] doing that.”
After trying to take the microphone away from Blunt, Gosling yelled, “Are you kidding me? Are you kidding. This is crazy, Emily. This has to stop. We have to crush this. “We are here to celebrate the specialist community.”
Blunt ended the conversation by saying: “Massively.”

Ryan Gosling recently talked about playing Ken in ‘Barbie’
During a January 2024 interview with W MagazineRyan Gosling talked about what it was like playing Ken in the Barbie movie.
“It was the cover of the script, which said Barbie and Kenbut and ken was crossed out,” Gosling explained. “And the next impression was: this is the most difficult role I will ever play. How do you approach playing a 70-year-old crotchless doll? There is no research you can do about it. There is no one you can follow, no documentaries you can watch, no books written about Ken. You’re on your own.”
When talking about the first scene he filmed with Margot Robbie as Barbie, Ryan Gosling said: “The ship, when Barbie and Ken travel to the real world. I brought a seagull prop for setting. I asked someone to puppeteer the shot and I didn’t tell Margot. Ninety percent of the actors I’ve worked with would go [very sarcastically], “You brought a seagull. Excellent.” But Margot was open to seagull puppetry.”
Regarding seeing Ken costumes during the Halloween season, Gosling added: “I saw a Ken in the wild, in Sydney. And I saw a pumpkin carved by Ken and Barbie.”
