Rucha Inamdar made her Bollywood debut with the film ‘Children of War’ (2014), in which she played the role of Kausar; ‘Children of War’ is based on the real events of the Bangladesh Genocide and the Liberation War of Bangladesh.

In 2022, she was signed for the film ‘Minus 31: The Nagpur Files’, in which she played the role of a policewoman named Preksha Sharma. Talking about his role in an interview, he said,
Apart from taking inspiration from the onscreen cops, I closely observed the real life cops. I used to sit with women police officers at police stations and I accompanied them when they went on patrol. I used to have lunch with him and interact with him. Such interactions helped me bring a certain authenticity to my character. My character Preksha Sharma also has a personal story to tell. But I think the more I spent time with women police officers, the more I realized how brave they are and how hard they work every day to protect us and maintain normalcy.
