Riley Moss was born to Mark and Beth Moss in Iowa, United States. Mark and Beth have consistently provided Riley with unwavering support for his budding football career since childhood. Riley Moss is currently a cornerback for the Denver Broncos in the NFL. Moss was an active member of the Ankeny Centennial High School football and track and field teams. He initially committed to play college football at North Dakota State at the start of his senior year.
Moss changed his mind, however, decommitting from North Dakota State and accepting a late offer to play at Iowa. The Denver Broncos selected him in the third round, 83rd overall, in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Riley Moss, a football cornerback, was born to Beth and Mark Moss on March 3, 2000. Unlike many parents who push their children into athletics, Mark, a former football player at Waldorf University, and Beth decided not to push Riley until he showed an interest in football . Mark, an avid Iowa fan, has had Hawkeye football season tickets since he was young. He recalls that Riley first inquired about playing football with the Hawkeyes when he started playing flag football in Newton.
The beginning of his football career
Riley’s cause has been supported by the Moss family since he was in high school. Riley and his parents committed to his post-high school goals after his freshman year. He has expressed a desire to play football at the Division II level or higher. In case he didn’t meet this goal, he considered continuing the track in college. Riley, Mark and Beth compiled a list of FCS and FBS Division II and Division I institutions from around the country. After the list was completed, they asked Riley to select his preferred school. Riley, unsurprisingly, said his ideal school is the University of Iowa.
Supported him during every challenge
Riley Moss’ parents have supported him through all his ups and downs. After a tough game where Riley struggled and was pulled, Mark gave some vital advice, saying,
“You are at a crossroads. You can either be like a turtle and go into shell, never to be heard from again, or you can choose to never let it happen. “Only you can make that decision.”
Beth highlighted Riley’s struggles as a captain, saying, “It’s easy to be a leader when you’re winning, but it’s harder when you’re losing.” He had to go through it as a captain and it raised his profile.” Mark Moss is the principal of Ankeny Elementary School and Beth Moss is an associate professor of nursing at Mercy College of Health Sciences.
