Relationships, Husband and Children
Riddhi and Rakesh met each other for the first time during the shooting of Yash Raj series film ‘Seven’ (2010) in Globus Mall, Mumbai. As you know, for practical reasons, we have to leave the city to raise our child in an ideal environment. I see parents running around because they have kids. And what kind of world are kids coming into anyway? So we thought maybe we would adopt a child and give him a better future.”
They divorced in 2019, after almost seven years of marriage. Ridhi and Rakesh released a joint statement in 2019 confirming their separation.
Yes, we are living separately. This decision has been taken with mutual respect and care for each other and our families. We’re two best friends who probably aren’t a couple anymore. But our friendship will continue as always in every happiness and sorrow. I would appreciate it if there is no further speculation and express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone for the love you have always given us.”
In an interview after the divorce, Riddhi said,
We are good friends and share cordial relations. If I degrade the relationship or take away its dignity and respect, I would be saying that the seven years we spent together were nonsense which is not true. I’ve grown as a person, there’s a lot I’m grateful to Rak for and it will always be like that. We tell each other’s families that we will always be family.
