He addresses the events of the episode directly to the audience, wondering how Rick will escape his captivity by the Galactic Federation and hinting that it could be nearly two years before the series returns. He then had a small cameo in the eighth episode of the third season, “Morty’s Heartbeater”, where he proposed to Morty in one of Morty’s memories. He reappeared at the end of season three “Rickchurian Mortydate”, in which Mr. Poopybutthole’s family (including his wife and son) made their first appearance, a role that once again evoked the long wait for season four.
Mr Poopybutthole was last seen at rick and the dead Season 4, Episode 3, “One Crew Over The Crewcoo’s Morty”, playing a college professor. Suddenly, some of his students attack and he quickly knocks them down. As it turned out, this was all a ruse devised by Rick to recruit him into his band of robbers, and Mr. Poo immediately accepted. However, he has expressed remorse after the credits for assaulting his student resulted in his expulsion from the university. He and his family are also the subject of the adorable short “Poop in My Pants” commercial.
