After the death of her boyfriend
However, Rhea’s boyfriend passed away after attempting suicide on June 4, 2020 at their home in Bandra, Mumbai. It happened just 6 days after Rhea came out. On August 7, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) asked Rhea and her brother to charge them with money laundering.
On August 19, the Supreme Court of India allowed the CBI to monitor the investigation. On September 8, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), India’s national anti-drug agency, arrested Rhea.
This happened after accusing her and her brother of abetting the provision of marijuana to Sushant and Rhea was lodged in Byculla Jail in Mumbai.
On October 6, the Mumbai Sessions Court extended Rhea’s judicial custody till October 20. However, after just a day, the actress was granted bail by the Bombay High Court.
