The sexual life of university girls actress and future Mean Girls: The Musical Movie star Renee Rapp is ready to make her mark in the music world.
After receiving high praise for his EP Everything for everyone and selling out her mini-tour, the 23-year-old singer and actress is ready to release her debut album.
“Snow Angel” is the album’s title track and is also the lead single.
Renee explained in an Instagram post that her album was already finished when she wrote the song, which ultimately changed everything.
Come in to listen to “Snow Angel”…
“A little over a year ago I had a traumatic experience. I don’t like to say that word lightly, so I understand the weight it carries. On my last week in Jersey, I texted Alexander telling him that he wanted to write about it when he got home,” Renee said. “I explained and recounted the situation in sessions with collaborators but it just didn’t work. Then, that night of May 8, she told me, ‘I really want to write that snow song.’ I think it’s good, really good.’”
“So we stayed up. We wrote it that night and recorded it the next day. On May 15 we sent it to my team. While I was preparing the previously decided single video, my manager Adam called me and told me to stop and that we were changing everything. Another single came out, Snow Angel came in. “They believed in the song as much as I did… that meant everything.”
Renee concluded: “I have never felt so proud and so scared at the same time for a song in my life. I’m very sarcastic and I make a lot of jokes, but this one is so fucking different. “This was all supposed to happen this way, and this was the song you were supposed to hear first.”
