Clearing the air of some confusion, Reba McEntire talks about allegedly calling Taylor Swift an “entitled brat.”
According PEOPLE, the rumored comment appeared on the Facebook page America loves freedom earlier this week. One of the posts on the page claimed that McEntire had an issue with Swift over how she allegedly acted during her 2024 Super Bowl performance.
“Reba McIntire [sic] “She talks about how disappointed she was when she looked at the big screen while The National Anthem was performed, only to see Taylor Swift laughing, drinking and making fun of the event,” the post reads.
There was also a claim that McEntire stated: “I let him have it afterwards. “She’s an entitled brat.”
The post also includes a story about McEntire’s alleged comments, which was originally published in the Dunning Kruger Times, a well-known satire website.
Reba McEntire was quick to address the situation, taking to her Instagram to share a screenshot of the post and really share her thoughts on Taylor Swift.
“Please don’t believe everything you see on the Internet,” McEntire said. “I didn’t say this. Taylor is a wonderful artist, a strong role model and she has done a lot of good for a lot of people and the music industry.”
Reba Co-star Melissa Peterman also pointed out some errors in the original post. “They spelled your name McIntire,” she wrote. “Such a made-up story AND a lazy proofreader.”
And of course, the Facebook page responded to McEntire’s post by sharing a screenshot of a story indicating that the country music star plans to file a $25 million defamation lawsuit against “fake news” websites. “.
