In 2014, Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla police station arrested Ravi Singh after he pushed a Marathi actress named Sharvani while trying to control the crowd during an event. The actress fell on the ground due to the shock. Reportedly, Ravi Singh did not allow the actress to enter the backstage where Shah Rukh Khan was present, even though she had an all-access pass. However, the police did not register an FIR against Ravi and let him off with a warning. According to a person close to Shahrukh Khan, it was Sharwani who misbehaved with Ravi Singh.

In November 2022, the Customs Department, acting on intelligence from the Income Tax Air Intelligence Unit, detained Ravi Singh at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport while he was returning to India from Dubai with Shah Rukh Khan. According to a Customs Department official, Ravi Singh was carrying with him some luxury watches worth Rs 17.86 lakh. Ravi was allowed to leave the airport after paying Rs 6.88 lakh as customs duty. During an interview the customs officer said,
Shahrukh and his team reached GA terminal at around 12.30 pm. Unlike T2, where there are different colour-coded channels for different types of passengers and their duty-related checks, the GA terminal has no separate classification. So the entire team was carrying 6-7 bags which were checked by security and they had several watch winders (special cases used for luxury watches) and an Apple watch which they had no receipt for , because he declared that these were gifts. We searched the price of these items on the internet and we determined that their price all together was Rs 17.86 lakh. Ravi Singh, who is from SRK’s security team (Ravi is Shah Rukh Khan’s trusted bodyguard), was escorted to Terminal 2 by a customs officer with a bag containing luggage for duty payment. There, Ravi paid the customs duty. Rs 6.88 lakh (calculated as per 38.5 per cent customs duty).
Earlier, several media houses had reported that the customs department had arrested Shahrukh Khan for watches, however, a customs official revealed that it was not Shahrukh Khan but his bodyguard who was detained. Talking about this the customs officer said,
As reported in the media, there were no fines or detentions. “Whatever is being said on social media regarding this matter is completely factually mismatched.”
