Early life and childhood
His full name is Randhir Raj Kapoor. He was born in February 15, 1947. He comes from Bombay, Bombay Presidency, British India. Currently, he is 75 years and his birth sign is Aquarius.
His parents are actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor (father) and Krishna Kapoor (mother). Similarly, she had two brothers, late Rajiv Raj Kapoor and late Rishi Raj Kapoor. And he also has two sisters, Rima and the late businesswoman Ritu.
He and his family later moved from their ‘Kapoor Haveli’ in Peshawar (now in Pakistan) to Mumbai, before the partition of India, to pursue acting careers. Career and professional life
Randhir was a famous and established actor of the 1970s and received two Filmfare Award nominations. But his career declined in the early 1980s. And, after this, he rarely appeared in films. Initially, he appeared as a child artist in ‘Shree 420’ (1955) and ‘Do Ustad’ (1959).
He then debuted as an actor and director with a leading role in the family drama ‘Kal Aaj Aur Kal’ (1971), a box office hit. Likewise, he plays leading roles in dramas. jeet (1972), Hamrahi (1974), J.awani diwani (1972), Lafarge (1975), Pandita Ponga (1975), and multi-initiators such as ‘Raampur Ka Lakshman‘ (1972) and Haath Ki Safai (1974), places him as a leading actor in Hindi cinema.

Kapoor’s career failed to move forward after 1985. And after which he stopped acting for over a decade. However, he directed the hit romantic drama. Henna (1991), which turned out to be the most commercially successful film of the decade. For this, he won a ‘Filmfare Award’ for the Best Director nomination. And it was also chosen as the Indian submission for the Oscar.

Randhir married actress Babita Shivdasani Kapoor on November 6, 1971. The couple fell in love while filming ‘Kal Aaj Aur Kal’. They have two actress daughters, Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. Unfortunately, they broke up in 1988 when differences arose between them. However, the couple reconciled in October 2007. Therefore, they never divorced but lived apart for 19 years.
