Career
In 2012, she joined ‘Zifo Technologies’ as a research and development analyst analyst, and she was later promoted to business development manager in the same company. She started her career as an actor in the Tamil short film ‘Maane Theyne Ponmaane’ (2015), directed by Shelley who is an assistant director of the famous Indian director Mani Ratnam. In 2015, she made her debut in the Tamil film ‘Dummy Tappasu’ in which she played the role of Soumya. She has appeared in a few Tamil films, such as ‘Joker’ (2016) and ‘Aan Devathai’ (2018). Her role in the Tamil film ‘Joker’ received appreciation from the critics and audience as well, and the film received the National Award in the Best Regional Film category in 2017.
She has also acted in the Tamil web series ‘Mugilan’ in 2020. Ramya appeared as a contestant in various TV reality shows, like ‘Cook with Comali’ (2019) and ‘Bigg Boss Tamil 4’ (2020). Apart from appearing as a contestant in Tamil TV reality shows, she has also judged the ninth season of ‘Kalakka Povadhu Yaaru’ in 2020.
