In the election, Rajiv got 2204 votes and Akhilesh Yadav got 621578 votes. As an independent candidate, he contested the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections from Azamgarh constituency. He got only 604 votes compared to Samajwadi Party candidate Durga Prasad Yadav, who got 100,813 votes.

- He started a school named Ratna Public School in 2002 at Rahulnagar, Mauza, Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. He started working as a teacher for underprivileged children there for free. In 2015, his students were found using abusive language at an event. Rajiv is then arrested by the police and sent to jail for teaching foul language to his students. As soon as he was released from jail, his wife started managing the school in place of Rajiv. At the same time, Rajiv started a YouTube channel ULLU TV.
