Pierce Brosnan has found himself in trouble. The actor faces citations after allegedly entering protected thermal areas in Yellowstone National Park.
According to People, Brosnan violated two of the park’s ordinances. The park specifically cited it for encroaching on “all thermal areas and within Yellowstone Canyon confined to trails” and “violating closures and use limits.”
While the citations are misdemeanors, Brosnan will still go to court. Authorities ordered the actor to report to the Yellowstone Justice Center on January 23. Yellowstone National Park has strict rules with areas closed to the public.
This is both to protect visitors and to protect the natural features of the park. The stretches of land in the thermal areas can be very thin and with acidic and boiling waters, the park leaves no room for accidents.
Park rules say: “Do not travel through thermal areas after dark; Stocks are not allowed in thermal areas; It is prohibited to alter or put objects in thermal characteristics; and it is prohibited to swim, submerge or bathe in waters that are entirely of thermal origin.”
The park advises visitors to follow its rules for their own safety and to avoid special fines. Brosnan was in Wyoming filming at the Yellowstone Film Ranch during The Holy Trinity.
