Pushpam Priya Choudhary was born on 13 June (year not known) in Darbhanga, Bihar. Most of his childhood was spent in Darbhanga. Priya went to London for higher education. He holds an MA degree in Development Studies from the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex, UK. Priya also holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK.

Pushpam Priya Choudhary entered active politics on 8 March 2020 when she announced her candidacy for the post of Chief Minister of Bihar in a full-page advertisement, which appeared in several Hindi and English newspapers of Bihar. In the advertisement he was mentioned as the President of Plurals, a political party started by Priya herself. In the advertisement, Ms Chaudhary promised the development of Bihar and asked people to vote against the government. With the tag-line “Plurals aa gaya hai” Priya appealed to the people of Bihar to join her party if they love their state and hate traditional politics.

Reportedly on Miss Chaudhary’s Twitter account she wrote,
Bihar needs speed, Bihar needs wings, Bihar needs change. Because Bihar deserves better and better is possible. Reject nonsense politics, join the plurals to run and fly Bihar in 2020.
He also wrote on his Twitter handle-
Love Bihar, hate politics? Join the most progressive political party.”
Priya has written an open letter to the people of Bihar on her website. Here is an excerpt from the letter,
The world is progressing very fast, yet Bihar remains the least developed region of the world. We are at the lowest position in the country also. Moreover, it is not about the rank that we have but what that rank represents. Poverty, malnutrition, illiteracy, unemployment and all other development indicators that require immediate policy action. “Due to these parameters, deaths occur every day in Bihar.”
