Prichard Meléndez is an American boxer and WBC honorary world champion. Prichard Meléndez won the gold medal at the 2010 Pan American Junior Championships in the 64 kg category.
Early life

Professional life and career
During his amateur career, Prichard Melendez gained fame for winning 5 national championships in both the 141 and 152 pound divisions. Additionally, he won the gold medal at the 2010 Pan American Junior Championships in the 64 kg category.
Prichard decided to become a professional wrestler in 2012.
And he made his professional debut on February 23, 2013. Therefore, his first fight was against Xavier La Salle at the Cosme Beitía Salamo Coliseum in Cataño, Puerto Rico. He knocked out LaSalle in the first round.
Likewise, he distinguished himself for his hectic schedule. Furthermore, he fought 5 times in 2013 and 7 times in 2014.
Additionally, her most notable fight came on September 9, 2015, when she fought Vivian Harris, a more experienced fighter. He was scheduled to fight Terrel Williams in a preliminary bout at the EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, Virginia, on October 17, 2015.

Brain damage
He and Terrell Williams fought for 9 rounds, in the first 5 rounds of which he seemed to be ahead. Throughout the match, Williams repeatedly hit him illegally in the back of the head.
He also informed the referee of the illegal blows to the back of the head, to which the referee responded “You take care of it.” However, Colón delivered a low blow to Williams, for which this boxer was penalized 2 points.
After multiple illegal punches, he was knocked down for the first time in his professional career during the ninth round. He spoke to ringside doctor, Richard Ashby, between rounds and said he felt dizzy but that he felt he could continue.
The doctor cleared Colón and allowed the fight to continue. He was disqualified after the ninth round when his corner mistakenly took off his gloves thinking it was the end of the fight.
Additionally, his corner claimed that he was incoherent and experiencing dizziness. And, after the fight, he vomited and was taken to the hospital. There he was diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage.
And, as a result, he fell into a coma for 221 days. In 2017, Colón’s parents filed a lawsuit seeking damages of more than $50 million. Additionally, the lawsuit has not yet been resolved, although her mother believes it may never be resolved.
Similarly, in July 2018, his mother posted a video of him on her Facebook account in which he can be seen taking physical therapy and responding to verbal commands.
His mother also claimed that Colón was learning to communicate through a computer. However, she continues to upload videos of her progress on YouTube.
