In 2015 he started training in archery. In 2017, he began his professional training under coach Surinder Singh Randhawa at Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab.

In 2019, he won a silver medal in archery at the National Inter-School Tournament. In November 2021, she competed in the women’s individual compound category at the Asian Archery Championships held in Dhaka, Bangladesh and defeated Chau Kieu Onh of Vietnam 147–144. She won the bronze medal in the women’s individual compound category at the 2022 Archery Asia Cup held in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

In March 2023, she defeated Iran’s Dale Zexenbinova Preneet Kaur 143–141 at the Tashkent Asia Cup in Uzbekistan. He competed at the 2023 World Archery Youth Championships in Limerick, Ireland. In the same year, she won the gold medal in the compound women’s team category after defeating Mexico 235–229 in the final of the Hyundai World Archery Championships. She won a bronze medal in the compound women’s team category at the 2023 Archery World Cup in Medellin.

She was part of the Indian women’s compound archery team that won the gold medal by defeating Chinese Taipei 230-219 at the 2023 Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China.

  • Preneet is interested in English literature.
  • In her spare time she likes to read books. His favorite book is ‘The Race of My Life: An Autobiography’ by Milkha Singh and he has read this book many times.
  • His father wanted him to become a sportsman. Preneet had to choose between fencing and archery. Talking about this in an interview he said,

    I have always been fond of sports and I wanted my child to try his hand at both sports and studies, so I moved to Patiala. Fencing and archery were my favorite sporting events so I took her to the trials and she became fascinated with ‘archery’.”

  • According to his coach Surinder Singh Randhawa, he is India’s silent warrior in team events.
