Jana Kramer is recovering from a recent hospital stay.
On Sunday (October 15), the 39-year-old country music singer, who is currently expecting a baby with fiancé Allan Russell, revealed that she was hospitalized for a bacterial kidney infection while on her “baby moon” in Florida. .

“Good. Our honeymoon didn’t go as planned, but we learned some lessons,” Jana wrote on Instagram. “First and most importantly, the baby is fine♥️. Swipe to hear his sweet heartbeat. The back pain that I have been suffering from for weeks was not just back pain. Lesson number one…don’t ignore the pain, because it can be more serious than you think. Many times (especially moms) we just ignore the pain because we are “the last ones to take care of ourselves.”
She continued: “When I posted about my back hurting a week ago, I just chalked it up to the pregnancy and didn’t tell the doctors because back pain is ‘normal’ so ‘don’t be a coward’ is what I thought. Then someone very sweet in my DM messaged me that it could possibly be my kidney. (I have since thanked him for his DM💜). But not wanting to ruin our babymoon or be sometimes like I can be (a bit of a hypochondriac…and make my closest friends laugh at the slight) we boarded the plane to Florida. When we landed I couldn’t stand the pain anymore and I started to feel even worse, so we went to the hospital.”
“Simply put, it was a serious bacterial infection that reached the kidneys. This resulted in a 2 day hospital stay and antibiotics because I let it go where it should. So. Lesson. Listen to your body,” Jana wrote. “You’re not a baby and you don’t bother people. If it hurts, talk to your doctor. Leaving things for too long or not taking care of yourself when you don’t feel well can be very serious. I also thank this amazing man who I begged to go sleep in the beautiful hotel he got us, but instead he slept in a folding chair.”
Jana concluded: “*Advice… Find a man who doesn’t make you feel bad or leave his side when you don’t feel good. Shout out to the nurses at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm. You all were the sweetest. “Xx”
Jana also shared some photos of her and Allan on the beach after he was discharged from the hospital.
Jana and Allan got engaged in May and announced their pregnancy in June. She shares two children, her daughter Jolie, 7, and her son Jace, 4, with her ex-husband Mike Caussin and Allan has a 16-year-old son from a previous relationship.
