Pramod Pathak was born on 23 December and is a resident of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. To complete his formal education, he moved to Nainital in Uttarakhand, where he stayed for eight years. After this he returned to Kanpur and started his family business. After working in the family business for a year, he became disinterested and moved to Mumbai in search of a job opportunity. In Mumbai, he earned a living by working in a market research company based in Churchgate, South Mumbai. In 1996, he joined a theater group in Mumbai and decided to pursue a career in acting.
