Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: How To Find (& Catch) Ting-Lu

Certain objects in the Paldea Region of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet unlock in the post-game to reveal the rare Legendary Ting-Lu that players can catch.

The Legendary moose that makes one of four Ruinous Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is Ting-Lu, the Dark-and Ground-type that players find at level 60 after beating the main storyline of the game through a sealed door. A more defensive Pokémon that could take players some time to weaken before attempting to capture it, the only way to encounter Ting-Lu revolves around players searching the Paldea Region for objects that break part of the seal containing the creature. Exploring Paldea’s open-world allows players to catch and train powerful wild Pokémon that could be beneficial in the battle against Ting-Lu.\

Within the Western Province areas of the Region are eight green Ominous Stakes that must be interacted with to open the door that Ting-Lu remains behind. Players should use this travel time wisely and collect a plethora of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet‘s Ultra Balls or other useful items for the incoming encounter. The Groundblight Shrine may only be accessed during the post-game, along with the counterpart Legendary to the box cover Pokémon players have used for transportation throughout the main narrative.

After players break each green Ominous Stake, they can find Ting-Lu at level 60, armed with the potent Vessel of Ruin Ability, which drastically lowers a Pokémon’s Special Attack stat. Since Ting-Lu is already composed of a natural bulk, it will be difficult for players to use the best moves for capturing Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet that deal enough damage to the creature. Therefore, Pokémon with high Attack stats or carry the Water-, Grass-, Ice-, Bug-, Fairy-, or Fighting-types will have the best chances to battle when players attempt to catch Ting-Lu after finding it in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
