Jordan Timothy Jenks was born on September 19, 1993 in Fort Riley, Kansas, but grew up in New York. He spent summers with his grandmother in Queens, which sparked his interest in East Coast hip-hop. Jenks was a fan of East Coast hip-hop artists such as Dipset and G-unit. Jenk is of Belizean-American descent.

Jenks began working as a sound engineer for Epic Records after graduating high school in 2015. Jenks began making beats for Young Nudy and Trippie Red in 2016. Bourn collaborated with Playboi Carti on “Woke Up Like This” the following year. Jenks’ career took off when the single Magnolia reached number 29 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and he went on to produce tracks for 21 Savage, Trippie Redd, Rich the Kid, Lil Yachty, Famous Dex, Nav, Young Thug and Lil Uzi Vert .
