Phillip Schofield quits Britain’s ‘This Morning’ show amid dispute with co-host Holly Willoughby

Phillip Schofield’s time in This morning has come to an end.

On Saturday (May 20), the 61-year-old TV personality announced she was leaving the British morning talk show amid her feud with co-host Holly Willoughby.

“I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories in This morning. But recently, This morning in itself it has become the story,” Phillip wrote on his Instagram story.

“Throughout my television career, including the last few very difficult days, I have always done my best to be honorable and kind,” Phillip continued. “I understand that ITV has decided that the current situation cannot continue and I want to do what I can to protect the show I love.”

Phillip added: “So I agreed to resign. This morning effective immediately, with the hope that the show can move forward into a bright future. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me, especially This morningIncredible viewers, and I will see you all for the soap awards next month.”

Phillip’s last day as co-host of This morning It was on Thursday, May 18.

In recent days, there have been reports that he and Holly, 42, have fallen out, after years of being friends.

On Friday (May 20), Phillip’s brother Timothy Schofield was sentenced to 12 years in prison after being found guilty of a child sex offence.

Phillip joined This Morning in 2002.
