A special item that gives players access to a powerful Persona fusion comes from maximizing the Lovers Social Link through Yukari Takeba in Persona 3.
Persona 3 Portable sees players interact with a diverse roster of characters that may be associated with an Aracana’s Social Link route, such as the Lovers card seen through classmate Yukari Takeba. These deeper connections made through Social Links give players a better understanding of other people present throughout the story while also granting a unique item that may only be received through gaining the highest Rank possible. Players looking to explore Yukari’s Social Link route will have to plan their time accordingly and hang out with her frequently to unlock special interactions that deepen their bond.
Unlike the Social Links in Persona 4 Golden or Persona 5 Royal, the route involved with Yukari does not give the player any new skills or combat abilities. However, once the Social Link for Yukari reaches Rank 10 through points gained through the selection of correct dialogue prompts from event interactions, players do get Yukari’s Strap. This exclusive item acts as a phone accessory by definition, but it may also be used to fuse the incredibly powerful Persona Cybele. Players can interact with Yukari during the Day on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays to initiate this path to get the item.
Maxing Out Yukari’s Social Link in Persona 3 Portable
Spending time with Yukari at these times unlocks occasional Rank up events or special conversations that open up dialogue options for the player as they hang out with the character. More points are given for choosing certain lines, not only within these events but also in others, such as a Phone Invite and Christmas Event. The faster these points are accumulated, the quicker players find themselves in the Rank up events. Since the later boss fights in higher Tartarus floors, it becomes a significant challenge; ranking up and even romancing Yukari at Rank 10 through the male protagonist route serves to get players the aforementioned fusion earlier to help with combat.
