Pat Kelsey is an American college basketball athlete and coach. Currently, Pat Kelsey is the head men’s basketball coach at the College of Charleston.

Pat is the current head men’s basketball coach at the College of Charleston. He is in his ninth season as head coach of the Eagle basketball program.
He previously had a long tenure as head coach at Winthrop University (2012-2021). Pat also served as an assistant for Xavier (2009-2012), Wake Forest (2004-2009), and Elder HS (1998-2001).
In addition to his training, he is famous for his passionate 2012 speech after the Sandy Hook school shooting in which 26 people were killed, including 20 children. In 2012, Winthrop hired him as his new head coach.

During his tenure, this coach led the team to 4 Big South regular seasons in 2016, 2017, 2020 and 2021, as well as 3 Big South tournaments in 2017, 2020 and 2021.
Additionally, he was named a finalist for the Jim Phelan Award (National Coach of the Year) and the Skip Prosser Man of the Year Award.
