Glenda Jackson, who won Academy Awards for Woman in love and a touch of classHe has passed away at the age of 87.
The English actress also had a second career in politics as a British lawmaker. She joined the House of Commons as a North London Labor MP from 1992 to 2015.
In a statement on Thursday, her agent Lionel Larner said: “Glenda Jackson, two-time Academy Award-winning actress and politician, died peacefully at her home in Blackheath, London, this morning after a brief illness with her family at her side. He recently finished filming the great escape artist in which she co-starred with Michael Caine.”

Tulip Siddiq, her successor as Labor lawmaker for her London seat, said she was “devastated to learn that my predecessor Glenda Jackson has died.”
“A formidable politician, an incredible actress and a very supportive mentor. Hampstead and Kilburn will miss you Glenda,” Siddiq wrote in Twitter with a photo of the two together.
