OJ Simpson, former NFL running back best remembered for the trial and acquittal for the murders of Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman, has died. He was 76 years old.
News was first announced in X (formerly Twitter) by OJ’s children. They issued a statement announcing his death after a battle with cancer.
“On April 10, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer,” the statement said. “He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you respect their wishes for privacy and grace.”

OJ Simpson dies at 76
OJ Simpson first rose to fame thanks to his play on the football field. He starred in the NFL with both the Buffalo Bills and the San Francisco 49ers. His success even earned him a place in the NFL Hall of Fame.
